hey there

I’m Kiana Re’

mama, wife, writer, & SWEET TREAT connoisseur

I’m on a mission to bring more fun back into cooking and baking. I grew up spending hours in the kitchen, testing recipes and wasting eggs, but as life got busy and responsibilities were piled on, it became harder and harder to really enjoy cooking dinner or making a sweet treat after meal. I’ve decided to slow down and start appreciating the art of food again, and that’s why we’re here! My love for photography, writing, and food all led me this way, and I’m excited to share my favorite easy weeknight dinner finds, beautifully complex holiday desserts, and everything in between.

There’s something for everyone. Thanks for being here.

Behind the blog

How it all started

My blogging journey began with fraud. At eight years old my mom signed me up for a cooking class at the local YMCA. At the end of the class series, we were sent home with laminated cookbooks featuring the recipes that were used in the class; so naturally, I promptly opened blogspot.com, created a cooking blog, and copied the recipes word-for-word from the YMCA cookbook into my first post. I was officially a fraudulent food blogger, stealing recipes and claiming them as my own, at the ripe young age of 8. Luckily the YMCA did not sue me–probably because I had absolutely 0 site traffic.

Fast forward to now: I test recipes, I tweak recipes, I develop recipes, I photograph food, and I am no longer a thief, but someone finally doing something they’ve wanted to do since they were 8. Food has always been a huge part of my life and the centerpiece of my favorite gatherings, so it only feels right to create, capture, and write about it here. I hope you enjoy my little slice of the internet.
